New Zealand

The application process for our New Zealand providers is simple. Just visit Enroller, our online enrolment portal – there you’ll be able to set up your account and manage the entire enrolment process from application through to arrival.

Australia

To apply for a programme based in Australia, please submit an application using the StudyLink application portal. Agents should log in here. Please contact UP Education if you have any questions about applying for an Australia-based programme.

How the application process works

Once you complete and submit your application online, we will issue your offer within two working days. Throughout the enrolment process you’ll get updates about what to do next.

Step 1: Application

Action by student:

  • Complete the application form
  • Include a copy of your most recent school report or other qualifications
  • Include a copy of your passport
  • Include any documentation confirming you have met the English language requirements

Action by UP Education:

  • Review application

Step 2: Offer

Action by UP Education:

  • Issue a Conditional Offer of place (if conditions exist)
  • Review all documents related to meeting conditions (if any)
  • Issue Unconditional Offer when all conditions met

Action by student:

  • Review offer(s)
  • Meet conditions (if any) of offer

Step 3: Acceptance

Action by student:

  • Sign and return Acceptance form
  • Sign and return insurance form
  • Fill out and return accommodation form (if needed)
  • Pay all fees via Flywire (May include tuition, insurance, accommodation, airport greeting, and transfer)*

Action by UP Education:

  • Issue confirmation of enrolment


*Students from certain countries, such as India, China, Vietnam, Russia and Turkey, should not pay fees until a Visa Approval in Principle (AIP) has been obtained from Immigration New Zealand.

Step 4: Pre-arrival

Action by student:

  • Apply for visa
  • Send through flight details
  • Review orientation information
  • Send UP a copy of visa when granted

Action by UP Education:

  • Provide orientation information
  • Provide pre-arrival checklist
  • Review student’s visa copy

How to Make a Payment:

Go to www.upic.flywire.com OR reach the payment stage on Enroller. Enter your payment amount and country of origin. Then select your payment method.

Enter some basic information to initiate your payment booking.

Follow the instructions provided to send funds to Flywire. For debit/credit card payments, enter your card details online to complete your payment in your home currency. Note: Additional local payment options may be available depending on the country you are paying from.

Receive text and email status updates each step of the way, including a confirmation when your payment has been delivered to your institution. You can also create a Flywire account to track your payment online 24×7.

Medical and police checks

For courses longer than six months, please provide an X-ray certificate less than three months old. Students aged 17 or over who intend to stay in New Zealand for 24 months or longer need a police vetting certificate from their home country.

Extending or changing your study plans?

If you begin studying, then find you want to make changes, transfer courses or study for longer, we can help you make changes to your visa. Our UP International College campuses (345 Queen St in Auckland, and Railway Station Building in Wellington) both offer visa support services.

Visa and permit requirements

Once you receive a confirmation letter, you can apply for a visa and arrange insurance. We require your arrival details so we can arrange an airport transfer and organise accommodation, if required.

Immigration New Zealand is the government department responsible for issuing visas and permits to enter New Zealand.

Student visa

To get a student visa, students must be enrolled in an approved course at an accredited New Zealand educational institution. Applications must include:

  • Recent passport-sized photograph
  • Proof of payment of non-refundable application fee
  • Offer of place from an educational institution, stating course name, minimum completion time and course fee or exemption (e.g. due to scholarship)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds to cover living costs (currently $1,250 per month)
  • Copy of return air ticket, or evidence of sufficient funds to buy one
  • Copy of student passport, valid for at least three months after planned date of departure from New Zealand
  • Financial documents and educational certificates
  • Evidence of medical, travel and contents insurance policies

Applying through an agent

Make your application easier

Our highly regarded education agents help you apply and give you comprehensive,

You are not required to use an agent to apply to study at UP International College, but it makes the process easier. An agent can help you choose a course of study, assist with completing an application form, and provide useful information.

You and your family can meet agents and UP Education team members at an Education expo. An expo can give you a better idea of what it is like studying and living in New Zealand.

Internal English Test

You don’t need to sit an external English test to enrol at UP International College!

If you’re thinking of enrolling at UP International College, you can meet your English requirements by sitting an English test conducted online by an UP Education English examiner. This free test will enable you to enter the following pathway courses:

The test includes a writing, speaking and listening sections undertaken under direct supervision by the UP Education English examiner. The objective of the test is to determine your current English language capabilities and suitability for our pathways courses. The test can be taken in the office of your education agent.  We may be able to approve other locations; these must be approved prior to the test occurring.  You’ll need paper, a black pen, a working webcam with microphone, and your original passport.  You cannot use a red or green pen, or a pencil to undertake the writing sections.

On-shore test

If you are based in New Zealand, you can sit our internal English test in person at UP International College in Auckland. The in-person test lasts for 110 minutes and includes listening, writing and reading sections. Please use the ‘book now’ button above to enquire about upcoming test dates.

Following the Government announcement, New Zealand has now moved to Alert Level 4 in response to COVID-19. This means all UP Education campuses are closed for face to face delivery of education from Tuesday 24 March 2020 for four weeks minimum.
