Jingyan chose to do the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation Studies Programme as a bridge to English-language university study.
“The course gave me a lot of opportunities to learn more about university. It offered professional courses like Marketing and Accounting, which teach you the basics so you can decide quite early on a major for university. My best course was Introduction to Mathematics – I got a high mark. But I think Microeconomics was my highlight, and our teacher gave us a lot of help. I was honoured to win a scholarship (Victoria University of Wellington Study Award). It’s an encouragement to study in the future.”
Jingyan plans involve studying Tourism Management at Victoria University of Wellington, and ultimately working for a tourist company.
