The Victoria University of Wellington Foundation Studies Programme* is taught by UP International College New Zealand to prepare international students for entry into the Universities undergraduate courses.

The programme ensures you not only meet Victoria University of Wellington undergraduate course entry requirements but that you are fully prepared for the challenges of degree-level study. University Pathways

Students who successfully complete a Foundation Studies programme are guaranteed entry to an appropriate Victoria University of Wellington undergraduate degree.

The top student each term completing Foundation Studies receives a NZ$5,000 scholarship towards tuition fees in the first year of their undergraduate degree at Victoria University of Wellington.

Two offers of place from the start

Students who apply for the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation Studies Programme receive two offers of place: a letter of offer for Foundation Studies, and a conditional letter of offer for an undergraduate degree at the University. An unconditional offer of place is issued once you complete the programme and meet admission requirements.

Intakes and Fees

Select a programme that matches your academic level and English language ability. If you don’t meet the English language requirements of your Foundation Studies programme, enrol first in a Campbell Institute General English course at the same campus (courses start each week, all year).

*International students must have comprehensive medical and travel insurance while in New Zealand. The UP International College Southern Cross Healthcare policy covers students for the duration of the sutdent visa.

Location & Facilities

UP International College campus is conveniently located in central Wellington, a short walk from Victoria University of Wellington, and close to public transport, accommodation, shops, cafes and restaurants.

Victoria foundation students have the same rights and privileges as other Victoria University of Wellington students*. Support services include student learning support, health service, counselling, financial advice and disabilities service. University facilities include a recreation centre, extensive libraries, cafes, bookshops and banking facilities, prayer rooms, student associations and more.
